Design Thinking

Approaching problems systematically to create effective and more empathetic solutions.

Research Ops

Scaling research operations, particularly with creating and documenting processes.

How i work

I conduct research for all stages of product development. This usually starts with a thorough problem discovery phase, progresses to broad explorations to find and test solutions, and ends with validated results to ship.

I make use of a broad toolkit of UX and product development research methods, adapting them to the unique needs of each project. I choose methods best suited to answer the research questions and to instill the most confidence in business decisions.

I organize all my work in a UX research repository so that my colleagues can easily find results and learn how to conduct their own research projects themselves. Documentation is one of my favorite parts of doing research!

UX research methods

experience

I was trained in empirical research methods at the Georgia Institute of Technology, at Sciences Po, and at the London School of Economics.

I gained my first work experiences focusing on financial and impact analysis in international development in Washington, DC, US.

I then moved to London, UK to get a master's degree in economic sociology and wrote my dissertation on online marketplaces. There I met my soon-to-be partner who was Dutch and moved to the Netherlands to be with him.

I started working in enterprise software with Dashmote in Amsterdam, where I ended up leading the UX effort for the front-end side of all Dashmote products.

I've since joined Mendix in Rotterdam, where I am currently researching user experiences while building applications in teams, and while using AI.
